That's why we went. We were pleasantly surprised by the charming city, the good food, the cleanliness, the friendly people and the history, but we genuinely just went there for the wine, and we weren't disappointed.
The town seems nice enough, with a number of semi-interesting sights to see but the PARKING, what a nightmare. Way to many cars, way too few parking spots and parking lots.

Quando visitei a pastelaria do hotel vi um bolo por noiva e outro de modo a 1 batizado. Gosto tanto do bolo por noiva de que adorava encontrar este bolo fatiado nas pastelarias.
From there, a 15-minute walk through the narrow, cobbled streets of Old Town brings you to the cathedral and Nacional Museum Grāeste Vasco, the gift shop of which offers a huge book selection, some in English and other languages. There are manors and gardens worth visiting outside the city as well, I understand, but they require some private transport.
The Hotel is really close to the center and the staff is always welcoming and dedicated. The prices are really low when considering the included breakfast and the amenities in the bedroom that, despite being old, are in excellent conditions.
The apartment may be warm in the summer but the unit has air conditioning, which will be helpful in any situation. All of the essential minor appliances are present, including a good size smart TV (gets Em excesso credit for the small dishwasher). A wonderfully pristine and cozy setting. The host, Joana, is immensely helpful and kind. I sincerely recommend it if you're planning to visit Viseu.
Viseu, located in the heart of Portugal, is a beautiful city with very good restaurants and bars/pubs, wine is a must to experiment and taste. The old town is perfect for walking and during the day we can also visit Fontelo Park. It is near the Serra da Estrela viseu hoteis 5 estrelas the highest point of Portugal.
